I was a Middle School English teacher for 9 years before starting a PhD program in Literacy and English Language Arts Education at NC State University.

I have taught in a variety of school settings: public, charter, and independent.

My passions are: girls’ education + girl-centered curricula, curriculum development, education research, English canon, teacher/faculty leadership development, and YA books
